Nagpur: The family dispute involving Maharashtra Legislative Council member Parinay Fuke has once again reached the police station. Dr. Rama Fuke (68), the mother of the MLC, has lodged a complaint against her daughter-in-law, Priya Fuke, at the Ambazari Police Station, accusing her of extortion and issuing threats of defamation on social media.

According to the complaint, Priya Fuke, who was married to Parinay’s younger brother Sanket Fuke in 2012, allegedly demanded money in exchange for allowing access to her children (Rama Fuke’s grandchildren) and threatened to malign the family online. Sanket Fuke passed away in 2022, after which tensions reportedly escalated within the family, leading Priya to move out.

Dr. Rama Fuke has alleged that Priya demanded a monthly sum—referred to as “half a box” (interpreted as a coded or slang term for a cash amount)—in return for visits with her grandchildren. The complaint also mentions that on the evening of May 6, Priya allegedly entered the family home without permission, verbally abused family members, and threatened to block access to the children and defame them if money was not paid.

Based on the complaint, police have registered a case against Priya Fuke.

In response, Priya Fuke has filed a counter-complaint against her mother-in-law. She claims she went to the house on May 6 at the request of her ailing father-in-law, only to find that half her clothes were missing and that two staff members recorded a video of her without consent. She alleges she was subjected to verbal abuse and intimidation with the involvement of police personnel.

In her complaint, Priya Fuke has accused her in-laws of mental harassment, withholding her rightful belongings, and attempting to coerce her through hired goons. She has submitted a written representation to the Commissioner of Police as well.

Meanwhile, MLC Parinay Fuke has previously clarified that the dispute is a private family matter and that he has no direct involvement. He stated that although he tried to mediate and resolve the issue, his efforts were unsuccessful.
