Nagpur: In yet another attempt to murder incident, a youth attacked a man with axe and inflicted grievous injuries on his neck, head, chest and face to settle score over a tiff occurred on Dussehra in Old Kamptee. The accused attacker has been arrested. The victim has been admitted to a private hospital and reported to be in serious condition.
A quarrel had ensued between the victim Mahadeo Rambhau Vayale (27), resident of Old Kamptee and the accused Sachin Devanand Kumbhre (23) of the same area at a programme held on the occasion of Dussehra. Mahadeo had slapped Sachin during the fight. The slapping did not go down well with Sachin and he waited an opportunity to settle score. Around 7.45 pm on Monday, October 2, Sachin accosted Mahadeo near Kali Mata Mandir, Purana Godam and attacked him with axe. The accused hit Mahadeo on his neck, head, chest and face with the intention of hacking him to death. He was rushed to Asha Hospital in Old Kamptee and in critical condition.
Old Kamptee ASI Ganvir, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Venkat Maygu Vayale (34), booked the accused Sachin Kumbhre under Section 307 of the IPC and arrested him.
