Yet another girl fell prey to a marriage promise dangled by a criminally minded youth.
According to police, the accused Umesh Fulchand Jumde (21), a resident of Old Colony, Kharbi, trapped a 14-year old girl by his “sweet loving words” and promised marriage with her. The accused Umesh one day took the girl to a temple and said that he is going to marry with her then and there only. Then the accused, with nefarious designs in his mind, asked the girl to have “Suhagraat” at the very moment, and as planned, took her behind the temple. However, the girl refused the demand of Umesh. The accused Umesh, enraged by the girl’s firm refusal, whipped out a knife and doled out life threats to her if she failed to fulfill his sexual desires. Umesh then physically contacting the 14-year old girl forcibly at the pint of the knife.
The panicky girl narrated the ugly incident to her parents who immediately reached the Nandanvan Police Station and lodged a complaint against Umesh in this regard. The woman PSI Bansod booked Umesh Fulchand Jumde under relevant Sections of IPC and has launched a hunt for Umesh to arrest him
