Youth suffered loss of Company’s Rs 1 lakh to thieves’ old trick

Bike borne thieves continued using their old trick in fooling people and are gaining profits through it. Saturday morning, youths made away with cash Rs 1 lakh from Cotton Market area on Saturday afternoon from 27-year-old Yogesh Mendhe, a resident of Tulsibagh Road, Mahal.

Mendhe had withdrawn cash Rs 1 lakh from a private bank’s branch on Ghat Road. While on his way to Cotton Market, two youths on bike driving parallel tot him, told him about some stain on his shirt and drove ahead. While Mendhe stopped near a tea stall to clean the stain, the same youths came on a bike at high speed and snatched away bag having cash Rs 1 lakh and some official documents. Mendhe, who works as an Incharge at Indus Engineering and Construction Company, claimed that the youths drove at break neck speed and he couldn’t note down their bike’s number.

Ganeshpeth police investigated the spot and registered the case on Mendhe’s complaint.
