Nagpur: A case of suspicious death has surfaced under the jurisdiction of Ganeshpeth Police Station after an unidentified man was found unconscious beneath Ramjhula bridge in Nagpur. Police recovered a bottle of suspected poisonous substance from the spot and have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

According to police sources, the incident came to light at the NIT beautification site beneath Ramjhula when security guard Manish Dongre was carrying out his routine patrol in the area. During the round, he noticed a man aged around 30 to 35 years lying motionless on the ground.

The youth was reportedly frothing from the mouth, raising suspicion of poison consumption. A bottle labelled “Strong Commando Jhalda,” believed to contain a toxic substance, was also found lying near him.

After receiving information, Ganeshpeth police rushed to the spot and shifted the man to Mayo Hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police said the identity of the deceased is yet to be established. An accidental death case has been registered and further investigation is underway.

Officials are trying to ascertain whether the man died by suicide or if any other angle is involved in the case. Police are also examining the recovered bottle and gathering evidence from the spot to determine the exact cause of death.
