Youth dies in a road mishap in MIDC area


No one knows what is in store for them. One may never know where death is laying in wait at some corner for them. In a bizarre incident which occurred in MIDC area on January 1, 2015, two youth who were going on a bike to enjoy some snacks met with an accident and the pillion rider was killed in the mishap.

According to police sources, the accident which occurred on January 1, 2015 at 2 pm, one Govind Kumar Ramdeen Uikey aged 20 years and a resident of Mahajan Wadi was going with his friend Pawan Kewal Singh Kumre aged 25 and a resident of Hemu Mahajanwadi, Shivni (MP) on Honda Shine two-wheeler bearing RTO registration No MH 31/ CX-7728 to eat some snacks. They were heading towards Wanadongri. When they reached a spot near Abhay General Stores, Vaibhav Nagar, they had to undertake a turn. When the rider Govind turned the two-wheeler, he hit a white coloured four wheeler. This caused the driver Govind to fall on the road. Unfortunately for him, at that very moment, a State Road Transport Corporation Bus (Bearing No MH-40/ 8512) was passing by and the victim Pawan came under the rear wheels of the bus. Pawan was killed on the spot.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by Govind, PI Patankar of MIDC Police Station registered a case against the driver of the State Transport bus identified as Ritesh Mahadeorao Pande aged 32 years and a resident of Gawlipura, Gittikhadan under sections 279 and 304 (A) of IPC.
