Nagpur: A brutal murder in Nagpur’s MIDC area has once again raised concerns over the rising crime rate in the city, with an unidentified youth found murdered in Aadhaar Nagari locality of Isasani under the jurisdiction of MIDC Police Station.

The blood-soaked body of the victim was discovered on Thursday morning, triggering panic and fear among residents of the area. Police suspect that unidentified assailants killed the youth by repeatedly attacking him with a stone before fleeing from the spot.

The gruesome incident comes at a time when concerns over deteriorating law and order and increasing violent crimes in Nagpur are already being widely discussed. Frequent incidents of assaults, disputes and murders over minor issues have created anxiety among citizens, while recent NCRB data has also highlighted the growing crime graph in the city.

According to police sources, information about the incident was received through the 112 emergency helpline early in the morning. Soon after receiving the alert, beat marshals and officers from MIDC police station rushed to the crime scene in Aadhaar Nagari, Isasani area.

Police cordoned off the spot and conducted a panchnama before shifting the body to Government Medical College and Hospital Nagpur for post-mortem examination.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was murdered elsewhere or at the same spot after a violent assault using a heavy stone. However, the exact motive behind the murder is yet to be established.

Officials said the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed so far. Police teams are working to identify the victim and are simultaneously scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the movements of suspects.

Investigators are also questioning local residents and collecting technical evidence to establish the sequence of events leading to the murder. Multiple teams from MIDC police station along with officials of the Crime Branch have been deployed to crack the case and trace the absconding accused.

A murder case has been registered against unidentified persons and further investigation is underway.

Confirming the incident, Senior Police Inspector Gokul Mahajan said police are actively investigating the case and several angles are being examined.

The shocking murder has spread fear among residents of Aadhaar Nagari and nearby Isasani areas, with locals expressing concern over the increasing criminal activities in and around the locality.
