A gang of anti-social elements attacked a 24-year-old youth over a trivial issue and injured him seriously on Sunday.
As per information, Vinod Dadarao Wardhkar’s cousin Aniket was trying to pluck flowers from a climber plant from Mr Sharma’s house. Assuming him a thief, Sharma shouted on him. Vinod (24), a resident of Ward No 3, Rajiv Nagar, near Radhakrishna Mandir, Hingna Road, went to Sharma’s house to clarify that his cousin was not a thief. But, Sharma along with his other mates started using foul language and beat him with an iron rod, thus, injuring him seriously. The miscreants also beat Vinod’s brother Manoj who sustained minor injuries.
On the complaint of Vinod, MIDC police booked the accused and charged them with sections 326, 323, 143, 147, 148, and 149 of the IPC. Vinod is under taking treatment at Lata Mangeshkar Hospital.
