Ganeshpeth police charged a 22-year-old driver for allegedly stealing a Toyota Innova car while the owner was gone to watch a movie.
The complainant Rajeshwar Mahadevrao Pikad (51), a resident of Bharti layout Darwah Road, Yawatmal, had employed a driver Mangesh Wadde (22) for his Toyota Innova car (MH 29 9500) worth Rs 13 lakh. He went to watch the late night show at PVR in Empress Mall, parked his car in the parking lot, and gave the keys to Mangesh. When Rajeshwar came back after the movie, neither the driver nor the car were at their place, he told the police.
On the basis of Rajeshwar’s complaint, Ganeshpeth police slapped charges under Section 408 of the IPC against the Mangesh who is also a native of Yavatmal. Police have started search for the Innova car and the driver.
