Nagpur News: Tension gripped Jaripatka area when news of murder of a middle-aged man spread like jungle fire in the area. The middle-aged man was killed by younger brother of his son-in-law on Sunday midnight by slitting his throat near Kasturba Nagar. Identified as Ramesh Govindram Chandi (55), the deceased was a resident of Devika Vihar Colony, Power Grid, Jaripatka.
On Sunday midnight, Ramesh Chandi received a call from his daughter Kanchan that her husband is manhandling her again. Hearing this, Ramesh took out his car (MH 31 DC 5249) and went with his wife Kanta to bring back his daughter. When they reached the residence of Suraj Prakash Aartani (31), a resident of Kasturba Nagar and husband of Kanchan, a heated up argument took place between Ramesh and Suraj. Ramesh asked his daughter and grandson to sit in the car. He sat in his car but Suraj stopped them from leaving. Anand, Younger brother of Suraj, who was a mute spectator of all the arguments, came from behind and attacked Ramesh with a sharp knife and slit his throat piling him in a pool of blood. Horror and shock struck Kanta and Kanchan. They immediately informed Jaripatka Police Station and informed them about the murder.
Jaripatka police rushed to spot and arrested accused Anand and Suraj for killing Ramesh. They performed panchanama and sent the body for post mortem.
Kanta Chand informed the police that their daughter Kanchan was married to Suraj four years ago. Suraj, his mother Madhu Prakash Aartani and his younger brother Anand Prakash Aartani (29) often used to manhandle Kanchan for dowry. They often demanded money from her parents. The husband and wife had a heated up argument a few days ago when Suraj again demanded money from her parents. On Sunday night, Kanchan called Ramesh to take her home as she could not bear the torture.
Kanta Chand alleged that Madhu Aartani and Suraj provoked Anand to commit the heinous crime. On the complaint of Kanta, Jaripatka police arrested Suraj and Anand on the charge of murder.
Prakash Diylani, cousin of Ramesh informed the police that Ramesh shifted to Nagpur from Ahmedabad eight years ago. He started his business in share market. He earned lot of money through his hard work. He got his daughter married to Suraj four years ago. But, Suraj eyed the money of Ramesh and started troubling Kanchan for money.
Police are further investigating the case.
