Nagpur: A 35-year old man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding rammed a truck parked right in the middle of road in Wadi area on Wednesday night. The unidentified truck driver went absconding and is being searched by cops.
The deceased has been identified as Dnyaneshwar Bhimrao Danavale (35), resident of 8th Mile, Mandwale Layout.
According to police, the senseless driver of the truck (MH-40/7797), which had developed a snag, parked the truck right in the middle of road in front of Shrikrishna Hotel, Waddhamna Square, Amravati Road, around 9.45 pm on Wednesday. The driver neither kept the rear lights of truck switched on nor erected barricades around the parked truck so as to warn other vehicle riders. The parked truck was virtually invisible at the dark spot of the road as a result. Around the same time, the deceased Dnyaneshwar Danavale happened to pass through that spot on his motorcycle (MH-40/U 0566). He failed to spot the truck parked bang on middle of the road and crashed his bike into the truck with forceful impact. Dnyaneshwar suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot. After the mishap, the unidentified truck driver went absconding fearing angry backlash from nearby people.
Wadi PSI P A Deshmukh has registered a case against the truck driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC and searching for him.
