With the progressing pace of colleges in Nagpur, the city youth has come up yet again with an interesting venture- The ICON FEST, 2013 , a National level TechFest of Yeshwantrao Chavan College Of Engineering, Nagpur. Theme of this fest has been decided to be ‘Women Empowerment’, hence serving as a social initiative as well. Visit to orphanages has been undertaken by the students already. The vital topic of Ending Child Labor will also be stressed upon throughout the fest through various means.
Also, being a Technical and Semi Technical fest, it reportedly intends to share different emerging views on recent trends in various fields of Electronics and Telecommunication for uplifting the talent in the students. Various events such as project-making, paper presentation competition, ORCAD layout competition, Aptitude, GD & PI round will be undertaken for all for their skill development.
This Fest will be celebrated from 8th – 10th March. As a startup for the fest, “Bike Rally” has been organized a day before the fest starts, i.e. on 7th March which will begin from YCCE, Hingna. The Bike Rally after closing stages at Futala Lake will be followed by a ‘Flash Mob’, the theme for which being ‘Women Empowerment’ itself, as also a tribute to 8th March-“Women’s Day”. Bike Rally starts at 5 pm.
