Yashodhara Nagar Police Rescue Four Cows and Calf in Nagpur,

Nagpur: Yashodhara Nagar police have taken action against the alleged illegal transportation of cattle in Nagpur, rescuing four cows and one calf that were reportedly being transported in a Tata vehicle in cramped conditions.

Police seized the cattle and vehicle, with the total value of the seized property estimated at ₹3.85 lakh.

According to police, the action was carried out at around 6 am on September 18 near Oberoi Palace in the Automatic Chowk area during a routine inspection by the Yashodhara Nagar Police night-patrol team.

Police stopped and checked a suspicious Tata four-wheeler. During the inspection, four cows and one calf were found inside the vehicle.

The cattle were estimated to be worth around ₹85,000, while the Tata vehicle was valued at approximately ₹3 lakh, police said.

Cattle Allegedly Transported in Cramped Conditions

According to police, the animals were allegedly being transported in numbers exceeding the vehicle’s capacity and in cramped conditions. Police suspect that the cattle were being transported for slaughter.

The rescued animals have been taken into police custody as part of the investigation.

Case Registered Against Driver

A case has been registered at Yashodhara Nagar Police Station against Rakesh Manoj Yadav, 40, a resident of Uttamnagar, Gorewada, under relevant provisions of law.

Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the transportation and the intended destination of the cattle.
