
Nagpur: A robbery involving a 92-year-old man has been reported in the Ajni Police Station area of Nagpur. The elderly man was allegedly assaulted before two gold chains and cash were forcibly taken from him. The two accused reportedly fled the spot after the incident.
Ajni police have registered a case of robbery against one named accused and his unidentified accomplice and have launched an investigation.
Elderly Man Assaulted Over ₹20
According to the complaint, the victim has been identified as Bapurao Sadashiv Kumbhare, 92.
The incident reportedly took place at around 1:30 am on September 17 at the victim’s residence in Parvati Nagar, Rameshwari.
Police said that accused Aryan Dheeraj Gaikwad allegedly arrived at the elderly man’s house along with an unidentified accomplice. The accused reportedly asked the victim for ₹20.
When the elderly man refused to give the money, the two accused allegedly assaulted him with their hands and fists.
Two Gold Chains and Cash Stolen
Following the assault, the accused allegedly forcibly took two gold chains belonging to the elderly man along with some cash in his possession.
The accused then reportedly fled from the spot with the stolen valuables.
Ajni Police Launch Investigation
After receiving the complaint, Ajni police registered a case against Aryan Dheeraj Gaikwad and his unidentified accomplice under relevant provisions relating to robbery.
Both accused are currently absconding, and police are investigating the incident to identify and trace the second accused and recover the stolen property.
