Govindrao Wanjari College of Engineering and Technology has taken an initiative to celebrate International Women’s Day under the banner of “TEJASWINI- Women Cell”. The Women’s cell was inaugurated at the hands of Chief Guest, Advocate Mrs. Tejaswini Khade. She guided the girl’s students on awareness of laws for effective implementation. She conveyed that this is the time to uphold women’s achievement, recognize challenges and focus greater attention on women’s rights and gender equality to mobilize all peoples to do their part.
On this occasion, Mrs. Smita Wanjari, Treasurer, Amar Seva Mandal acquainted the students about the background of how women’s day came into existence and the importance of it. The program was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. S.B. Deshpande, Principal GWCET, Prof. S.S. Uttarwar, Vice Principal and Head Mechanical Engineering and the Women’s cell Incharge Prof. Jayshree Mahendra. The committee members Prof. L. A. Yelmule, Prof. M.A. Deshmukh, Prof. A.S. Deshmukh and Prof. M. Yengle worked hard for the successful organization of the event. Prof. S. A. Ishwarkar compeered the event and vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Radha Chimurkar .
