Woman vendor murdered at Rly Station flyover, 2 arrested

Nagpur: Tension ran high at the busy road in front of Railway Station as three men murdered a woman vendor selling lemon juice on Friday night. Two of the accused killers who went absconding have been arrested.

The deceased has been identified as Rubina Shahrukh Salim Khan (32), who used to run a lemonade stand under the flyover opposite Railway Station and was a resident of Khalasi Line, Mohan Nagar. The three accused Monu alias Jitesh Sanjay Khaperde (28), Bharat Samadhan Chakranarayan (23), both residents of Bajeria and Ajay Khaparde picked a quarrel with Rubina over her lemonade thela. The accused attacked her with sharp-edged weapons and inflicted deep injuries on her head. Rubina collapsed and died on the spot. After killing her, the accused fled the spot. The murder of woman at the busy place sparked tension and traffic was disrupted.

Soon after receiving the information about the murder, a team of Sitabuldi Police Station led by Senior Inspector Hemantkumar Kharabe rushed to the spot. Crime Branch personnel also arrived at the spot. After preparing the spot ‘panchnama,’ cops sent Rubina’s body for post-mortem.

Sitabuldi Woman PSI Yelkewad booked the three accused under Sections 302, 34 of the IPC. Later a team of cops succeeded in nabbing two the accused Monu alias Jitesh Sanjay Khaperde and Bharat Samadhan Chakranarayan. Search for the third accused is on.
