Carelessness on the part of a woman cost her dearly when she was relieved of her ‘Mangalsutra’ worth Rs 80,000 at the high-profile Nagbhavan Guest House. Cops have launched a search to nab the burglar.
The complainant Sangeeta Ramakant Mehre (50), resident of Plot No. 338, Shankar Nagar, had on 12.2.15 around 7 pm gone to Nagbhavan Guest House for making arrangements for guests attending her daughter’s marriage. The arrangements were to be made in Room No. 7. However, Sangeeta forgot her purse having the ‘Mangalsutra’ in the room and left for Satpuda Lawn. Later, Sangeeta realized that she had forgotten her purse in the Nagbhavan room and rushed there in the night at 12.30 am. But the purse was missing. Some burglar entered the room from back door and decamped with the purse having ‘Mangalsutra’ worth Rs 80,000.
Sitabuldi Senior PSI Shende, acting on Sangeeta’s complaint, booked the unidentified thief and probing the matter further.
