Woman relieved of mangalsutra worth Rs 70,000

Nagpur News : Two unidentified youths relieved an elderly woman of her mangasutra worth Rs 70,000 when she was riding pillion with her husband on Thursday.

The complainant Vatsala Rambhau Katthalkar (69) is a resident of Tractor Company Square, Sai Nagar, Hingna Road. On Thursday at around 9 pm, Vatsala was riding pillion with her husband on their Pleasure scootterete (MH 40 J 6509) who were head towards home from Pratap Nagar Square. Two unidentified youths came from behind in front of Gujraj Steel shop, Hingna Road and snatched away Vatsala’s gold mangalsutra worth Rs 70,000. Before she could raise an alarm, the thieves sped away.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by Vatsala, MIDC police have registered an offence under Sections 392 and 34 of the IPC. Further investigations are under way.
