Nagpur: Two more rape incidents put the Second Capital City of Nagpur to shame. A woman and 10-year old girl were raped in Ajni and Nandanvan areas. Both the accused rapists have been arrested.
In the first incident, the accused Sudhakar Bhaviksingh Rathod (30), resident of Plot No. 113, Mahatma Phule Nagar, Manewada Road, lured a 29-year old woman with marriage promise. With the ‘promising’ words, the accused Sudhakar exploited the woman sexually frequently at Ajni Police Quarter No. 1, Building No. 1 from May 16, 2016 to April 2, 2018. However, when the woman insisted the accused to marry her, he threatened to kill her and her family. The accused later got engaged with another woman and thus cheated the victimised woman.
Ajni Woman PSI M G Bhute, based on the complaint of rape survivor, booked the accused Sudhakar Rathod under Sections 376, 506(B), 417 of the IPC and arrested him. Further probe is on.
A 10-year old girl was raped repeatedly by neighbouring 45-year old man in Nandanvan area. According to the complainant, she along with her 10-year old daughter, is staying at her mother’s house due to some domestic issue. The accused Manoj Janardhan Bhise (45) is a neighbour. On October 19, 2017, the 10-year old girl went to the house of accused for playing with his daughter. However, the accused Manoj took her to terrace of his house and raped her. Similarly, on March 26, 2018, the accused again took the kid girl to terrace and showed her obscene video and raped her again. Moreover, the accused threatened to kill her if she disclosed his heinous acts to anybody. However, the girl gathered courage and narrated the incident to her mother who in turn registered a case against the accused with Nandanvan police.
Nandanvan PSI P D Bambole, acting on the complaint, booked the accused Manoj Bhise under Sections 376(2)(I)(N), 506(B) of the IPC read with Sections 6, 11, 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and arrested him. Further investigations are underway.
