Nagpur: In a midnight crackdown, Ganeshpeth police have arrested a liquor bar owner, his manager and two waiters for allegedly organising obscene dance at their bar on CA road here on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Police have also detained 3 girls caught presenting objectionable dance at Madira beer bar. The action has gathered much political dust in the wake of ongoing assembly session in the city. Sources viewed that the incident might be raised in the ongoing winter session of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha.

Of the 3 girls two were allegedly found performing before the lustful eyes of so called ‘special’ customers while another girl was singing for them. At around 1.30 am on the fateful night, Ganeshpeth police ordered action on the basis of inputs received from DCP Zone 3 Abinash Kumar who sent the live pictures of the scene received on his whatsapp from one of his confidentials.

A police source on condition of anonymity told Nagpur Today that bar owner Neeraj Gupta, 58, manager Kamlendra Gaikwad and 2 waiters have been arrested under section 33 (8) of IPC. The girls have also been taken into custody and accepted their role in the act.

TI Ganeshpeth police station Khatade sent a team lead by API Taksande. At that time the information was found to be true. One of the onlookers was reportedly splurging currency notes. However, only challan for violating time rules was made at that time. Later the video that was sent to DCP Kumar was put for verification. Head constable Anant Purushottam Wankhede was then assigned the task of checking the authenticity. Wankhede after thorough investigation of the spot found the contents of the video matching with that of original location.

Later he reported the matter to Kumar who ordered arrest on the basis of complaint lodged. The girls also spilled the beans over the incident and admitted to have been present at the time of incident and confirmed their identity in the said video. It is learnt that these girls were fetched from Mumbai.

Sources informed that the dance bar was being run for the past many years. Both the entry and exit were smartly built. Insiders told Nagpur Today that beds have also been arranged at the spot for special clients. He informed that only known members were allowed entry to this area of Madira bar.
