A man booked for molestation has been eventually slapped with rape charges after the cops came to know that the 11 year old girl was victimized by him.
Lakadganj police parents of a 11-year-old girl had lodged a complaint on Wednesday alleging that their neighbour Sheikh Hafiz alias Bhurya Sheikh Hasan alias Vikrant Naresh Waghdhare (35), a resident of Satranjipura, had molested their daughter.
It is to be mentioned that the 11-year-old victim has gone to visit Sheikh Hafiz’s house at around 4 pm on Wednesday and Sheikh Hafiz had allegedly tried to outrage her modesty. The girl freed herself and reached home and narrated her ordeal to her parents. They immediately contacted Lakadganj police and lodged a complaint against Shikh Hafiz. Cops registered a case of molestation and started their investigation. However, it was revealed in the investigations that the girl was actually raped by the accused. Thus, cops have now charged Hafiz of rape under Sections 376 (a), (2) of the IPC read with sub sections 5 (m), 6, 8, and 10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012. Cops have intensified the search for the culprit who is still at large.
