WCL to donates 5 Crores for Uttrakhand disaster Prime Minister Relief Fund

Nagpur News: Under the Chairmanship of D. C. Garg, Chairman Cum Managing Director of Western Coalfields Limited an urgent meeting of steering committee members was convened to discuss about situation arising in Uttrakhand due to cloudburst and massive land slide today. The steering committee members unanimously decided to contribute an amount of about Rs. 5.00 Crores towards Prime Minister Relief Fund for which each employee of WCL will contribute one days basic pay towards the corpus. The amount will be handed over by Chairman cum Managing Director of WCL, D. C. Garg along with the members of steering committee to the Honorable Prime Minister of India on in presence of Honorable Union Minister of Coal Shirprakash Jaiswal, Honorable Union Minister of State for Coal Pratik Prakashbapu Patil.

Garg appriciated the unanimous decision taken by the steering committee members and said that in such critical situation we all should come forward together for the help of Nation. This is also known that WCL had contributed towards Chief Minister Relief Fund of Maharashtra few days ago for horrible drought situation in the state.

Two minuets silence towards the people who lost their lives in Uttrakhand and two contract workers who lost their lives in mine accident in Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd was gestured by the Steering committee members of WCL. Director ( Technical) Om Prakash, Director (Finance) Sushil Behl, Director (Personnel) Rupak Dayal, Director (Technical – P&P) S. S. Malhi, S. Q. Zama, Vidhyasagar Chaudhary, Dinesh Rawal, M. M. Deshkar, H. S. Baig, G. S. Singh, P. V. Rao were prominently present in the meeting.
