Recently Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Western Coalfields Limited, D.C. Garg has been felicitated with the BT-Star PSU Award for Corporate Social Responsibility in Delhi. The Award was given to WCL for best practices of Corporate Social Responsibility among Miniratna category.
While addressing the august gathering of bureaucrats and senior officials from government and public sector, Shri Garg said that this award is the result of collective effort and hard work of entire team of WCL. He also expressed his thankfulness to the jury of BT-Star PSU excellence Award 2013 for giving this recognition to WCL as an Award. This is known that with a view to bring meaningful change in the lives of our most important stake holders i.e. populace residing in our command area in particular and the society at large under the guidelines of Department of Public Enterprises, WCL has taken massive CSR initiatives and completed 205 CSR activities during FY 2012-13.
In the Financial Year 2013-14, 435 new CSR activities will be taken up for execution in all the ten areas of WCL, including Rs 1.5 crores for relief work in draught affected areas of Maharashtra.
