Nagpur News : In a daring theft, a waylayer thrashed a middle-aged man and after throwing chilli powder at him, he made away with Rs 3.13 lakh cash from the man’s possession, on Thursday morning. Dhantoli police have registered the case.
Mahadev Kashinath Bharde, aged 41, and a resident of Bajrang Nagar, Manewada Road, Ajni, works in a bar Amrit Bar and Restaurant, Ganjakhet. On Thursday at around 9.15 am, he withdrew Rs 3.13 lakh cash to distribute the salary of employees. He kept the money in the dickey of his Mahindra Duro (MH 31 ED 425) and was driving back to the bar.
He was heading towards Jhasi Rani square when an unidentified youth came from rear at LMG Pul, near Anand Talkies. The youth was on Activa moped (MH 31 DJ 5937). The youth threw chilli powder in Mahadev’s eyes and thrashed him black and blue. The youth then took away Mahadev’s vehicle along with the bag containing Rs 3.13 lakh. The accused left his Activa moped on the spot.
After recovering from the impact of beating, Mahadev reached Dhantoli police station and lodged a complaint against the unidentified thief. Cops registered an offence under Section 394 of the IPC
