Nagpur News : Lakadganj police say a truck driver and three passengers were injured when they were hit by another truck dashed on the wee hours of Friday. Police said that the accident took place around 1 am on Friday while coming to Nagpur from Wardha on Central Avenue, Wardhaman Nagar, Mahavir Square.
According to information, Vitthal Chandrabhan Khekare (58), a resident of Punbrao Colony, Wardha loaded his truck (MH 31 W 2897) with wooden planks and headed towards Nagpur with Ashok Krishnarao Chaple (54); Mangesh Baburao Wankhede (26), both residents of Wardha; Sanjay Ramji Madavi (45) seating in the cabin. Another truck (HR 55 M 6622) came at a breakneck speed near Mahavir Square and dashed into cabin of Vitthal’s truck. All the passengers and Vitthal sustained injuries while caused a damage of Rs 1 lakh to the cabin. After hitting the truck cabin, the accused truck driver dashed into two electric polls and caused damage of Rs 50,000 to public property. However, the accused driver successfully fled away from the scene leaving the injured on their own.
On the basis of Vitthal’s complaint, Lakadganj police have registered an offence under Sections 279, 338, 427 of the IPC read with sub sections 3, 4 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
