In an unprecedented incident, the water tank and the main pipe line of the Army compound broke at around 7 am on March 7, 2015. This caused water to gush towards the lower point which was the rear compound wall of Shradha House Building which houses the Raisoni Group of Educational Institutions. The rear compound wall buckled under the water pressure and broke down. This in turn caused water to enter into the basement of the building used for parking two wheelers and four-wheelers. As many as 10 cars and 20 motorcycles were partially submerged in the water.

Water also flooded into the electric meter room. The Security personnel immediately put off the main supply in order to prevent any electrical short circuit.

However, as soon as Manager Administration of Raisoni Group of Institutions Archana Bhole contacted the Mayor of Nagpur Praveen Datke, and reported the crisis, within ten minutes, a barrage of NMC personnel rushed to the spot.

The NMC’s Fire Brigade was pressed into service since they have the required equipment and knowledge to pump out the water from the water clogged areas.

The water also spilled out to the main road and was seen on the North-East corner of the Kasturchand Park ground.

The water logging also caused the entire building to go without power for the whole day. Many businesses running in the ground floor were affected due to this water logging. Since it was hot and since the fans could not be put on, the students of Raisoni Group of Educational Institutions were let off for the day.
