A delegation of Vidarbha Taxpayers Association (VTA) led by its president J. P. Sharma met & welcomed recently appointed Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation Abhijit Bangar by presenting flower bouquet.
J. P. Sharma informed about VTA to the Commissioner about VTA that a consortium of taxpayers had formed this Association with aim to protect and safeguard the common man’s right as a taxpayer; also informed about the various activities of VTA carried in the larger interest of the society.
Tejinder Singh Renu Secretary of VTA shared details of various public interest litigations filed by VTA in public interest. He also informed that VTA keeps eye on various new acts proposed by the Government and if any lacuna is found, appropriate representation is submitted. Recently also VTA raised issues related to retrospective provisions in proposed Maharashtra Lifts, Escalators and Moving Walks Act, 2017 which is to be enacted soon and accordingly VTA had sent memorandum to the State Government with appropriate suggestions to avoid litigations in future.
Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar said that he’ll surely resolve any issues causing problems to the citizens and taxpayers.
