VRAS to observe May 1 as ‘Black Day’; to launch movement for separate Vidarbha

Announcing to observe Maharashtra Day as Black Day, Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti has decided to trigger the revolution for separate Vidarbha, as the organization deem it only way out for the development of the region. The samiti has even appealed the citizens to host a black flag on their houses on May, 1 to support their support for separate Vidarbha.

The committee members informed in a press conference organised at Patrakar Bhawan on Thursday that a strong movement was required to achieve statehood for Vidarbha. The members of Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti told that the movement has been given the name “Vidarbha Andolan” .The committee released a flag on April, 24; 2014 which will represent the separate Vidarbha Movement.

Adv. Wamanraao Chatap informed the media personal that they would oppose Maharashtra day which is on 1st May. Samiti has declared 1st May as “Black Day”. The group will stage protest followed by a candle march at 5 pm on May 1 in order to press their demand.

The supporters of Vidarbha will tie black band on their arms and appeal the people to come out of their houses to make their voice heard for the cause. The members who were present in the press conference were Adv. Wamanraao Chatap, Dipak Nilawar, Ram Newle, Adv. Nandatai Parate, Bheemrao Kuse, Saroj Kashikar and Dharmaraj Revatkar
