Nagpur: The Maharashtra Veterinary Students Association (action committee) has organized an agitation to express their anguish against the alleged ‘unlawful’ promotion in the department inside the college campus on Wednesday.
The state veterinary outfit has alleged that, the orders of promoting 125 ALDOs to the post of LDO with the posting on the establishment of Vet. Disp.Gr-I, Taluka Mini Veterinary polyclinic, District Veterinary Polyclinics, Central Hatcheries, Bull rearing centers, DAIC etc. have violated the provisions of Indian Veterinary Council (IVC )Act 1984. As per section 30 (a), no person other than a Registered Veterinary Practitioner shall hold office as veterinary Physician or surgeon or any other like office bearer in Government or in any institution maintained by a local or other authority.
The students also alleged that these orders also violates High Courts rule. “The High court judgment in wp no. 2360/2007 has given their clear verdict that no non graduate veterinary practitioner shall be allowed to hold any post of veterinary physician or surgeon or be allowed to function except under the supervision and direction of a registered veterinary practitioner. Therefore we believe that it is a violation of Courts orders also,” claims the veterinary outfit.
The outfit demands:
To set aside order dated 8/03/2019 promoting ALDO’s to LDO’s on the posts of Vet. Disp.Gr-I, Taluka Mini Veterinary polyclinic, District Veterinary Polyclinics, Central Hatcheries, Bull rearing centers, DAIC etc.
Fill up the vacant posts of LDOs immediately
Implement IVC Act 1984 in toto
Handing over the veterinary services to the Unemployed Registered veterinary practitioners instead of NGOs like J K Trust, BAIF, PETA etc.
Commissioner of A.H. should be a veterinarian with IAS
PG and PhD students should be paid stipend.
Contratual pay of veterinarian should raised to minimum Rs 50,000 considering the minimum qualification and duration of education completion of Graducation and post graducation.
Instead of retired veterinarians preference should be given to fresh graducates in contractual services. As like engineering graduates are given.
The students outfit has threaten to go on indefinite strike from March 12, till their demands are not fulfilled.
