Nagpur: Nandanvan police have arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered four two-wheelers from him. The accused has been identified as Pradeep alias Dadu Deodhar Thakur (19), resident of Dipti Signal, Kalamna.
Cops received a tip off that a suspicious youngster was hiding at a dark spot in front of Plaza Beer Bar at Vathoda Square. Acting on the information, a team of cops comprising ASI P D Ghadge, constable Mahadeo, NPCs Shrikant, Amol, Sepoys Pankaj, Abhay, Deepak, and Prashant reached the spot. On seeing cops, the accused tried to flee but was chased and caught. He told his name as Pradeep alias Dadu Deodhar Thakur. Upon frisking, cops found Pradeep carrying a knife. He was detained and brought to police station. On further interrogation, the accused confessed stealing four two-wheelers including a Hero Honda bike, Activa, Hero Honda Splendour and a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle. All these vehicles were later recovered from him.
Cops have booked the accused Pradeep alias Dadu Thakur under relevant sections of IPC and placed him under arrest.
