Nagpur, August 2026: Nagpur is set to witness an evening dedicated to the richness of Indian storytelling, literature and performing arts as Vartalaap presents a special Dastangoi evening on 23 August 2026 at Chitnavis Centre, Nagpur.
Conceived as a premium cultural gathering, Vartalaap aims to create a space where art is not merely watched, but experienced. Moving beyond conventional entertainment formats, the initiative brings together storytelling, literature, music, conversations and diverse forms of Indian art under one cultural space.

The upcoming edition will feature acclaimed Dastangos Sunil Mehra and Pallav Mishra from Delhi, who will bring to life two celebrated stories by legendary writer Ismat Chughtai — “Gharwali” and “Mughal Baccha.”
Through the distinctive oral storytelling tradition of Dastangoi, the evening will explore Chughtai’s sharp observations on society, human relationships, prejudice and patriarchy. The performance promises an intimate encounter between literature and live performance, allowing audiences to experience these powerful stories and discover their timeless relevance.
The evening will be gracefully anchored by RJ Tejal, one of Nagpur’s most recognised radio voices and cultural hosts. Known for her engaging communication style, deep connect with audiences and active association with the city’s literary and artistic initiatives, she will guide the audience through the performances and conversations that define the Vartalaap experience. Her thoughtful presence as compère will add warmth and continuity to an evening dedicated to storytelling, literature and meaningful cultural dialogue.
