Varsity gathers poll heat with students’ council elections; announces 15 rotational colleges



The current festive season is witnessing the cloudy weather of elections too. With assembly elections gaining heat, the students too have become active these days as Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur university is going in for its Students’ Council elections coming October 18. Gearing up the preparation university officials on Tuesday announced its list of 15 rotational colleges, the elected candidates from which will eventually elect the President and Secretary of Student Council. The voting for President and Secretary will be held on October 18. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)  is already claiming its stake on President and secretary posts. It is already claiming consent of 8 University representatives supporting ABVP.


The student organizations in fray for the student council election of (RTMNU) have hit the campaign trail with a flurry of students and candidate contact programmes taking place in colleges.

The  Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and National students’ union of India (NSUI) and Nationalist Students Congress Party (NCSP) have accelerated their preparations to secure their sides. They are reaching out to students to garner  support for their organisation.  ABVP and NSUI have already started to chalk out plans, making their candidates win. They are confident of student support and are banking on their past years win in the election.
