New Delhi: Indian Railways has revised the departure timings of two Vande Bharat Express trains operating on the Varanasi-Ranchi and Varanasi–Deoghar routes. The revised schedule will come into effect from September 2, 2026.
The change applies specifically to the trains’ departure from Varanasi, which will now be 10 minutes earlier. Timings at stations after Varanasi will remain unchanged.
Varanasi–Ranchi Vande Bharat
Train 20888 will now depart Varanasi at 3:55 pm, instead of the existing 4:05 pm. The return service is numbered 20887. The train covers around 536 km and operates between Varanasi and Ranchi.
Varanasi-Deoghar Vande Bharat
Train 22500 will now leave Varanasi at 6:10 am, instead of 6:20 am. The revised timing will also take effect from September 2.
Passengers travelling on either service should check the updated timetable before reaching Varanasi station, as arriving according to the old schedule could mean missing the train.
