Umred man losses Rs 4.5 lakhs to thieves trick

Nagpur News : An Umred man fall prey to the thieves trick at petrol pump on Manewada road under the jurisdiction of Ajni police station on Thursday. Manoj Tiwari suffered a loss of Rs 4.5 lakhs which he had withdrawn a few minutes before Axis Bank on MG Road.

Tiwari, an assistant administrative officer at a private company (Buildcom), had been to city for some official work and had withdrawn the cash for labour payment.

The incident took place at around 4.30 pm when Tiwari’s driver was waiting in queue for diesel. Tiwari was seating in the rear seat of his car (MH27 C-5684) when a youth standing a few steps away indicated him towards the car tyre. Assuming that something is wrong with the car, Tiwari get down and found few Rs 100 notes near the tyre. He bent down to collect the notes while the tricksters made away with the bag from other side window.

Police informed that a petrol pump boy informed that the youth’s partner was waiting with the bike at a few distance. Cops informed that they were two youths involved in the crime.

Police are yet to check the CCTV footages of bank to confirm whether the thieves were following Tiwari from bank or in the midway.
