Two-wheeler rider booked for causing death of woman pillion rider negligently

Nagpur: A two-wheeler rider has been booked by for causing death of a woman pillion rider negligently.

The accused Rajendra Jagdish Shahu (36), resident of Sainagar, Umred Road, and the deceased Sheikh Salmabi Sheikh Jamil (Urkude) (45), resident of Bada Tajbagh, were going to Kalamna on a two-wheeler (MH-40/AS 1182) around 11.30 am on Saturday, August 5, 2017. The accused Rajendra was reportedly riding the two-wheeler recklessly. As they reached near Gangavihar Colony, in front of Vijaya Saraf’s house, Sheikh Salmabi fell on the road and received critical injuries. She died on the spot.

Nandanvan police, after registering a case, probed the matter thoroughly and found that rash driving of the two-wheeler by the accused Rajendra Shahu led to Sheikh Salmabi fall on the road and cause her death. On the basis of the probe and a complaint lodged by Rameshwar Ganbaji Urkude (38), Police Constable Raju Gaidhane has booked the accused Rajendra Shahu under Section 304(A) of the IPC. Further investigation is underway.
