The incidents of robbing innocent citizens by fake police, bogus postmen, counterfeit doctors, and women maids continue to rise putting the gullible citizens in horrid dilemma in differentiating who are real and bogus. Both ways they could be in troubled waters. Fighting with real police by assuming fake police could send them to jail. And confronting with bogus police could put their lives in jeopardy as the goons possess any kind of weapon for “safety” purpose. Realy a terrible dilemma.
Nagpur News: Another woman became victim and was relieved of gold ornaments by police, albeit, “fake police.”
According to police, an aged woman Shakuntala Madhukar Patil (63), a resident of Plot No. 356, Mahesh Colony, Chandan Nagar, was returning home after purchasing milk at about 7.30 am. At the same time, two unidentified persons in the age group of 35-45 years accosted her and told Shakuntala they are “policemen” and “advised” her to remove gold ornaments as some thieves are waiting some distance away to rob her. The aged victim Shakuntala believed the “policemen” and removed two gold bangles from her hands as told and the “policemen” pretending to be putting the bangles in a paper and returned the paper bunch to her. The “policemen”, not to mention fled the spot as if “to arrest the thieves.”
The woman Shakuntala, returned home and started to remove her gold bangles from the paper bunch. She only received the paper totally worthless, and the gold bangles worth Rs 60,000 were with the “policemen.” The woman, it appears, is either totally illiterate or stupid as she could not understand the fact that if the thieves were waiting to rob her as told by the two “policemen” then why the “policemen” did not arrest the thieves instead of telling her to remove gold ornaments.
Imamawada police registered an offence under sections 420, 419, 177, 34 of IPC and are searching their “counterparts.”
