Nagpur: Two persons were killed when they were hit be rashly driven vehicles in separate incidents on Monday. Both the victims have not been identified, yet. Cops have arrested one driver while another has been booked.
According to police, in the first incident, an unidentified woman, about 50-55 years of age, was hit by a speeding vehicle at about 9 pm on Monday. The woman suffered critical injuries and died on the spot. The accident occurred near Umred Road Bridge on Bypass Ring Road under Hudkeshwar Police Station jurisdiction. PSI Lingnurkar, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Ajay Manohar Ghodmare (29), has booked the accused driver under Section 279, 304(A) of the IPC and Sub-Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and probing the matter further.
In the second incident, an unidentified cyclist died on the spot when he was rammed by a Saini Travels vehicle (MH-31/CQ 1135) on Dipti Signal Road, near Wardhaman Nagar Railway Crossing. The mishap occurred at 5.30 pm on Monday under Lakadganj Police Station jurisdiction. PSI Mole registered an offence under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC against the driver of the killer vehicle Vishesh Sangamlal Tiwari (40), resident of Samata Nagar, Nari Road and took him under custody. Further investigations are underway.
