Two persons crushed to death by trucks in different mishaps

Nagpur: Two persons, including a young boy, were crushed to death by trucks in different incidents hereon Sunday midnight. One of the truck drivers fled the spot after the accident and is being searched while other has been arrested.

In the first incident, utter recklessness on the part of a motorcyclist cost him his life. The deceased has been identified as Rohit Sudhakar Meshram (22), a Bhimnagar resident. Around 0100 hours ofSunday, Rohit, riding a motorcycle (MH-49/T 7357), tried to cross the road through gap of the divider in front of Chintamani Beer Bar on Manewada Ring Road. At the same time, a tipped truck (MH-40/Y 2447), coming from opposite direction, rammed Rohit’s motorcycle head on. The forceful impact hurled Rohit in the air and he fell on the road and was crushed to death under the wheels of the tipper truck.

Ajni API Shejul booked the driver of the tipper truck Ranbhid Narayan Patil (32) of Umred, under Sections 304(A), 427 of IPC and arrested him.

In other incident, a 50-year old man Arvind Gadpayale of Khaparkheda, was walking on Saoner Highway around 0050 hours of Sunday. When Arvind reached near in front of Bawankule’s house on the road, a speeding truck hit him and crushed him to death on the spot. The driver of the truck, along with his vehicle, fled away from the spot after killing Arvind.

Koradi PSI P C Bhonde, has registered a case against the absconding truck driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of IPC and searching for him.
