Two men selling inferior whisky in the name of branded companies arrested

Nagpur: Nandanvan police on Thursday arrested two men on charges of selling inferior quality liquor in the name of branded companies. A huge stock of spurious liquor, empty bottles and cash has been seized from the possession of arrested men.

Police received a tip off that the two accused Naresh Ravindra Walde (31), resident of House No. 136, opposite Mahal Agro Industries, Nagpur and Sunil alias Mahesh Bapurao Barai (37), resident of Plot No. 317, Anand Nagar, Rani Durgawati Square, were indulging in selling inferior quality of whisky in the name of branded companies. The accused were bringing Silver Bear Company’s whisky from Madhya Pradesh and pouring the stuff into empty bottles of branded Officer’s Choice, Imperial Blue, Royal Stag and other companies for selling them in the market. The cops raided the place and arrested the two accused. A huge stock of spurious whisky, empty bottles of branded companies, cash of Rs 10,500 and other material collectively worth Rs 1 lakh were seized from the possession of arrested accused.

PSI Thakur registered an offence against the two accused Naresh Ravindra Walde and Sunil alias Mahesh Bapurao Barai under Sections 482, 483, 486, 34 of IPC read with Sub-Section 65 (A, B, C, D, E, F), 81, 83, 108 of Mumbai Liquor Act and placed them under arrest.
