Two killed, two injured in separate mishaps in Nagpur

Two people were killed while two were seriously injured in separate road mishaps under the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar and Yashodhara Nagar Police Station respectively. In the first incidence, Vinod Mohale (35), a resident of Ward Kala Khori, Bhiwapur was going to Bhiwapur on his Bajaj CT 100 (MH 40 SR 9780) with his friend Sanjay Harish Gedam (40). A speeding four-wheeler hit their motorcycle. Vinod and Sanjay fell unconscious on the ground while the unidentified car driver fled from the spot. Commuters rushed them to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment. During preliminary treatment, doctors declared Sanjay dead while Vinod is undergoing treatment.

On being informed, Hudkeshwar police reached the spot and conducted the panchnama. Cops registered an offence against the ‘killer’ car driver.

In the second incidence, a truck hit a motorcycle killing one and seriously injuring another. Police said, Vishnu Bhoskar (55), a resident of Shyamdham, New Nandanvan and his friend Dilip Gopichand Khobragade (45), a resident of Lashkaribagh were coming to Nagpur from Tarsa on their bike (MH 40 Q 5981). At around 10.30 pm on Wednesday, an uncontrolled and speeding truck (CG 04 J 8430) hit their motorcycle near Shitala Mata Mandir, Kalamna Ring Road. Vishnu and Dilip fell on the ground with the impact while the truck driver fled from the spot. Later, the truck driver hit a ‘pan kiosk’. Fearing arrest, he left the truck on the road and fled from there. Meanwhile, Vishnu and Dilip were rushed to hospital where the doctors declared Dilip dead during preliminary check-up. Vishnu is still struggling for life.

Yashodhara Nagar police took the truck under their possession and booked the truck driver.  Further investigations are under way.
