Nagpur: The Local Crime Branch (LCB) has arrested two men accused of robbing a couple at knifepoint on the Butibori–Nagpur road by pretending to ask for directions. The breakthrough came after the victims’ daughter recorded the entire incident on her mobile phone.
According to police, complainant Sushant Hajare was travelling with his wife and daughter from Nagpur to Butibori when two motorcycle-borne men stopped their car under the pretext of asking for directions. The accused allegedly threatened the couple with a knife and snatched a gold chain from Hajare and a gold mangalsutra from his wife.

The stolen jewellery is valued at approximately ₹1.26 lakh. After committing the robbery, the accused fled towards Nagpur.
During the incident, the couple’s daughter displayed remarkable presence of mind by recording the robbery on her mobile phone. The video clearly captured the faces of the accused, providing investigators with crucial evidence.
Using the video footage and technical evidence, the Local Crime Branch traced and arrested the two accused, identified as Afroz Pathan and Rameshwar Pagar. Police are continuing their investigation to determine whether the accused were involved in other robbery cases.
