Nagpur: Two goons on Tuesday attempted to kill a youth at gun-point in Old Kamptee over old rivalry. One of the goons has been arrested while the other is being searched by cops.
The complainant, Bobby Yakarwar (21), a resident of Shastri Square, Kamptee, told police that around 9.30 pm on Tuesday, he was talking with his cousin brother near his house. At the same time, the two accused goons Hemant alias Babu Ganesh Pillai (26) and Karan Totalwar, both residents of Kamptee, reached the spot and started hurling abuses on Bobby over old enmity. The verbal duel soon took an ugly turn when the accused Hemant alias Babu Pillai whipped out a mauser gun and put the weapon at Bobby’s stomach in a threatening posture. However, Bobby anyhow managed to flee from the spot. Luckily, the accused did not fire the mauser. Bobby later approached Old Kamptee police and registered a case against the two accused.
API S B Chavan booked the two accused under relevant sections and succeeded in nabbing Hemant alias Babu Pillai. Search to apprehend other accused Karan Totalwar, who is also accused in a rape case, is on.
