Nagpur : Nagpur city was shaken after two separate incidents of alleged suicide involving young girl students were reported from different police station limits. The incidents took place under the Five Pavli and Bajaj Nagar police station areas, prompting police to launch investigations into both cases.
In the first incident, reported under the Five Pavli police station limits, an 18-year-old engineering student identified as Shreena Gadpayle allegedly died by suicide after jumping from a flyover near White House on Kamptee Road. Shreena was a first-year BE student studying at a college located on Kalmeshwar Road.
According to family members, she had left home on Wednesday morning for college. Later in the evening, the family received a call from Tirpude Hospital informing them that she had jumped from the flyover and had been admitted in critical condition. Despite medical treatment, she succumbed to her injuries late at night.
Police have registered an accidental death case and are further investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In another tragic incident under the Bajaj Nagar police station area, a 15-year-old schoolgirl identified as Sanvi Yeskade allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Surendranagar. Sanvi, a Class 10 student, was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her home.
Police said they received information from Medical Hospital, where the girl was brought dead. Officers reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem examination. An accidental death case has also been registered in this matter.
Police officials stated that no formal complaints have been lodged by either family so far. Investigators are questioning relatives and friends to determine the possible reasons behind the two incidents.
