Two fraudsters try a trick to convert a cheque of Rs 40,000 to Rs 40,00,000

Nagpur News: Two fraudsters, indulging in the game of numbers, tried to rob a construction company by converting a cheque of Rs 40,000 to the cheque of Rs 40,00,000.

According to police, Kishore Asnani, Supervisor of the construction company MSHR Rathod Civil Engineering Construction, owned by Rajesh Hari Singh Rothod (43), was handed over a cheque of Rs 40115 of Bank of Baroda, Sitabuldi Branch by Rajesh Rathod for purchasing some material. The MSHR Rathod Civil Engineering Construction has bagged an order for building a sub-station in Balapur, Akola. The cheque given to Kishore Asnani was in the name of a hardware shop Karan Hardware in Balapur. However, both Kishore Asnani and the owner of the Karan Hardware conspired and put the amount of Rs 40,11,500 by skillful over-righting. After the “task” was accomplished, Kishore deposited the cheque in his account for clearance. But Rajesh Rathod got the hint of the fraud and immediately lodged a complaint at Sadar Police Station against Kishore Asnani, a native of Gujarat, and the Karan Hardware owner.

Sadar PSI Kukte has booked both the accused under relevant section s of IPC.
