Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Nagpur Crime Branch arrested two men on Saturday for possession of MD drugs near the TB Ward Quarters under Imamwada Police Station.
The suspects have been identified as Jitu Nandu Gorade (34), a resident of Barakholi, Jaripatka, and Yash Bablu Tomaskar (21), a resident of TB Ward Quarters.
According to police sources, the Anti-Narcotics Cell was on patrol when they became suspicious of two men near the TB Ward Quarters. Upon inspection, officers discovered 22.9 grams of MD drugs in their possession.
The suspects were taken into custody and, during questioning, revealed that they had purchased the drugs from Kartik Tomaskar, who is currently at large.
A case has been registered against the trio under Sections 8(C), 22(B), and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Further investigation is being conducted by the Imamwada Police.
The arrests were made by Anti-Narcotics Cell Police Inspector Gajanan Gulhane, API Manoj Ghurde, API Sidhardh Patil, Police Constables Rahul Patil and Manoj Neware, and Police Amaldar Rohit Kale, along with Subodh Gajbhiye.
