Nagpur: In a ghastly mishap, two brothers were killed as the bike they were riding was hit by a reckless driver truck at Wanadongri-Mahajanwadi area under MIDC Police Jurisdiction on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Aaftab Aalam (22) and his younger brother Mustafa Aalam (18) both originally residents of Bihar.
According to police sources, Aalam brothers used to work at a garage in the MIDC area. On Tuesday morning they opened their shop and went out to grab some breakfast. At around 10.15 am, when the duo was crossing Wanadongri-Mahajanwadi area, a recklessly driven truck dashed them from behind and ran them over. with fetal injuries, the duo died on the spot. Fearing the wrath of the public, the accused truck driver fled the spot.
Following the incident the squad of MIDC Police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for autopsy. Cops have registered an offence against the accused truck driver and are probing further.
