A large number of candidates had given the exam earlier this year, in June. However, mismanagement had let to quarrels at the Regional centre for form submission as many candidates had not received their hall tickets even on the day before the exam.

UGC has consequently decided to only accept NET forms online this time. The result will be made available on the UGC websites www.ugc.ac.in and www.ugcnetonline.in, as and when it is declared. Candidates will not be individually intimated about their result.

NET is a common test conducted by UGC’s National Education Testing Bureau to judge eligibility of candidates for lectureship and to award Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals. The primary objective of this exam is to ensure minimum standards in the person entering the noble profession of teaching and research.
