Trees are important tools in the fight to stave off global warming, because they absorb and store the key greenhouse gas emitted by our cars and power plants, carbon dioxide (CO2), before it has a chance to reach the upper atmosphere where it can help trap heat around the Earth’s surface. Trees takes in carbon dioxide it gives out oxygen n all animals and plants need oxygen to live and for your extra information they breath in oxygen at night.
So, National Service Scheme unit of Anjuman College Of Engineering & Technology has organized Tree Plantation in association with “Ayushi-Arushi Green Foundation” on 12 thAugust 2014 in College Campus, Near about 100 sapling were planted during the event.
The Tree Plantation Event was inaugurated by Dr.Sajid Anwar,Principal of College and Mr. Thakur Ajay Singh and Mrs.Vimla Singh of “Ayushi Arushi Green Foundation”,and in the presence of Prof. Mohd. Nasiruddin, HOD. Electronics & Telecommunication Engg, Prof.Dr.Akash Langde,HOD,Mechanical Engg.,Prof.Mrs.Archana Shirbate,HOD,Electronics & Power Engg. ,Prof.M.S.Khatib,HOD,Computer Science & Engg., Prof.Syed Amir Hussain,HOD,CIVIL Engg,Prof. Yusuf Qazi,HOD,Science & Humanity,Mr.Vikas Nagrale,Librarian,Mr.Abdul Gaffar,Account officer,Prof.Sajjad Khan,Dean,Student Activity, Mr.Amir Siddiqui,A.O..
The Tree Plantation Event was conducted & organized by Prof. Zakir S. Khan,Programme Officer, ACET-NSS along with 200 Volunteers. He said “Trees play a significant role in reducing erosion and moderating the climate, they remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store large quantities of carbon in their tissues.”
During the Event Principal Dr. Sajid Anwar commented that“Trees are essential for life and without trees human would not exist on this beautiful planet. Due to the unprecedented cutting of trees, the whole ecological balance has been disturbed, we all should pledge to plant at least 5 Trees and personally motivated the students for lending helping hand in saving the environment by tree plantation.”
