Transport Minister Gadkari urged to make Nagpur-Adilabad Highway worthy of traffic

nagpurhyderabadroadNagpur News: The day Nitin Gadkari took the reign of Surface Transport Ministry as Cabinet Minister he has embarked on revealing his plans to revive highways sector. Gadkari, who has been entrusted with the task to spur growth in infrastructure sector, has been in the past credited with the construction of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and umpteen numbers of flyovers in Nagpur and Mumbai. After assuming office, he has unveiled blueprints to develop national highways to world standards and one of the plans pertains to plantint 200 crore saplings on national highways across the country.

Forget planting of 200 crore saplings, the Nagpur-Adilabad Highway is now the point of focus. Condition of this crucial highway could be described as very poor and riddled with holes. Moreover, the rainy season has made the national highway inaccessible even to bicycle. Whoever ventures on the road in nights faces the risk of major accident as there are no lights on the stretch.

The high-profile Highways Minister, known as an able administrator with innovative approaches, is therefore requested to spare some time to look into the matter and correct the wrong. The poor state of the national highway got exposed thanks to an alert citizen
