Traffic violation claimed woman’s life, injured children

Nagpur News : An accident over traffic rules violation claimed life of a 26-year-old woman and injured three at Tataghat square in Jaripatka police station area on Tuesday morning. Police said both the victim and the accused driver violated the traffic rules.

The deceased, Vandana Kawre with her two minor children and younger sister, Kirti Awade were riding on moped while the accused truck driver had tried to overtake Awade’s vehicle at traffic signal resulting into a mishap.

Awade was driving the two-wheeler while Kawre along with children-2-year-old son and 8-month old baby-was riding pillion. Police said they were heading to attend a marriage in Jaripatka when the met with the incident at Tataghat square. Neither Awade nor Kawre had used helmet.

Awade was waiting at the traffic signal to turn green when a rashly driven truck driver knocked down their two-wheeler while trying to overtake. Kawre was thrown on an electric police causing head injuries while other three were thrown on road.

She was rushed to nearby Mayo hospital but was declared brought dead. The truck driver is still absconding.
